Thermal Ramping Rate during Annealing of TiO 2 Nanotubes Greatly Affects Performance of Photoanodes

Electrochemical Anodization Self-organised TiO2 nanotubes are synthesized on a Ti substrate using electrochemical anodization. In article number 2100040 by Patrik Schmuki and co-workers, thermal annealing of the tubes up to 450 °C in air at different ramping rates investigated for their effect photoelectrochemical performance. A rate 1 s–1 leads highest performance due most effective charge separation illuminated tubes.
